Fun and Cozy Ways to Celebrate Fall

Autumn is my favorite season for so many reasons. It’s beautiful, it’s cozy, and it has the perfect weather. It’s a great time of year to slow down and really appreciate the world around us. There are also so many ways to embrace the season and enjoy your life. I’ve collected some of my favorite ways to celebrate fall this year.

Enjoy fall flavors

There are so many delicious flavors and produce that come with fall. Pumpkin is obviously a huge one, from pumpkin soup to pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin pie. But it’s also a huge season for apples, and my favorite thing is stewed cinnamon apples. Don’t sleep on squash either. There are a million different types and so many different ways to cook them. Corn chowder is another favorite of mine. So be sure to add some fall recipes to your meal rotation.

Revamp your wardrobe for cooler weather

It’s the season for cozy sweaters galore. So, celebrate fall by going through your closet and pulling out all the pieces you love for fall, including turtlenecks, thick skirts, and even fun PJs. You also might want to go through your shoes and pull out your cute boots or sneakers. Bonus points if you put together your outfits so you’re ready to go for fall!

Go to a festival or even just take a walk outside

It’s so nice outside during fall! Be sure to take advantage by spending as much time outside as possible. This might mean going to a pumpkin or fall festival. There are often tons around if you live in a more rural area that include corn mazes, tractor rides, and delicious food. If you live in a city, there might be a Halloween parade or some sort of Halloween-themed event.

But even if you don’t live in an area with a festival or Halloween event, you can just go for a walk and enjoy the pretty atmosphere and crisp air. Just be sure to get outside!

Make the perfect playlist

I don’t know about you, but certain songs just have an autumn vibe, even if you take out the Halloween ones. Obviously, a Halloween playlist can be fun, but you can also make a playlist that just feels fall. Think anything you’d hear on Gilmore Girls or the kind of songs you’d want to listen to while you drink a hot drink on a porch while looking at the pretty leaves. That’s your fall playlist.

Decorate your home for fall

This might go without saying, but you want to create the perfect autumn environment. This doesn’t need to be stressful or all-encompassing. You can simply add some pumpkins to your decor, run leaf garlands, maybe get some fun autumn kitchen towels, and use some orange and black candles. Don’t underestimate the power of fun fall pillows either. Hey, put on your fall playlist while you decorate!

Embrace autumn activities

Fall activities include things like carving pumpkins (Bonus points if you pick them out in a pumpkin patch!) and going apple picking. There are so many ways to get into the autumnal spirit. If you visit a farm, going for a hayride can be a lot of fun. If you’ve got the space, a great way to connect with friends and enjoy fall is a bonfire. When I was little, my mom and I used to go for a walk to pick out the most perfect leaves and go home and iron them between parchment paper to create a great window decoration. I highly recommend this as well!

Watch fall movies and TV shows

It can be super cozy to curl up on the couch and watch something incredibly autumn. My personal favorite fall movie is Practical Magic, which is like a combo of fall with Halloween. I also love watching Gilmore Girls. There are so many films and TV shows that fall into this category. Studio Ghibli can be a perfect vibe for fall (Especially Kiki’s Delivery Service), and plus, there are all the Halloween movies out there from Hocus Pocus to The Corpse Bride. Don’t forget the Twilight movie if you’re into that too.

In my personal opinion, fall is easily the best time of year, so I would encourage you to embrace it and enjoy every second. These are just my favorite ways to do so, but you might make your own traditions or have your own ideas. Happy Autumn!
